« Music workshop » dedicated to contemporary sound practices
For more than ten years, association Ryoanji founded by the two musicians Lê Quan Ninh and Martine Altenburger from Creuse, an artistic and cultural project dedicated to sound and music creation and listening to our relationship with the world.
This project led to meetings and projects initiated in the territory – concerts, art and cultural education workshops, meetings, etc. – as well as the festival created in 2013, Le Bruit de la Musique, which takes place every year in August.
From the richness of the moments lived, the ties that have been woven, the necessity and the desire to anchor and deploy the project even more strongly with and on the territory, was born the desire of a place: a place where one can seek, manufacture, experiment, create, think, gather, welcome... without ceasing to go also and always to meet. A place of artistic, cultural and social life in relation to its territory.
A result of six years of reflection and co-construction, this place, born from the rehabilitation of former slaughterhouses, was inaugurated in June 2023.
A new adventure started for the association under the name of «Spices, listening territory» fed byensemble]h[iatus, artistic complicity as well as companionship dedicated to each other.
