It is by this formula suggested by saxophonist Laurent Charles that I officially announce the end of the festival The Noise of Music whose twelfth edition this year was therefore the final edition. The festival was named after a phrase by Anna Karina in Pierrot the Fool by Jean-Luc Godard, it was logical to use the final image of this film to illustrate this announcement.
There is of course a whole bundle of converging reasons that push us to this decision. Practical reasons and poetic reasons. You can easily guess the first. As for the second, they were dictated to us by Martine Altenburger and myself by a voice that is evident. It may seem so inconclusive to be guided by an inner voice heard simultaneously, as a manifestation of our neurons mirrors, even though everyone was dancing on the floor of the capital during the « bal trad » Closing date. And yet, we instinctively turn to this sudden epiphany because we have always followed the poetic path rather than the path of reason. Without this « madness » There would never have been a festival The Noise of Music in this little part of the northeastern Creus...
A music festival is not just a list of concerts that follow, it's a human adventure. It begins in a desire for sharing, in an intuition that links various aesthetic approaches and in listening which is a journey. It continues – conditioned by an amazing series of coincidences – in the meeting of people from different backgrounds who nevertheless constitute not so much a team as a network of skills in motion. Artistic, technical, administrative, etc. To which are added solidarity (human, professional, institutional). Some would call it a spontaneous synergy, I would even have the audacity to call it a stigmergy, or even a localised form of social utopia that temporarily dissolves hierarchies reminding me of my readings of youth and in particular certain notions developed in its time by Max Stirner (we don't redone!).
These twelve editions of the festival, more so than a cultural event, were an enchanted parenthesis (yes, dare the word) where everyone's commitment·he helped to build a small utopia in action and which appeared to be the normal (and unnormated) social condition, which, though short-lived, went beyond the wishes of the « Living together » the political world.
There were warning signs to Martine and me that this parenthesis should be closed in time, which could leave a happy memory for every person who has experienced this proposal throughout the twelve years.
This stigmergy that was possible allowed to share these moments of shared listening which are the concerts and performances offered by the guest artists·es. These moments that must be linked in a listening journey like a sensory adventure deployed over three days. The task of designing these courses was – on a voluntary basis – most of mine, a task fed by hundreds of hours of listening to recordings and concerts, trips, meetings, reflections and dreams. In spite of me, she revealed my way of hearing that favors precision, discernment of sound sources and chiseled discourse despite the different aesthetics, despite the different approaches and beyond the hiatus between writing and improvisation. It was important for me to make these routes run on a ridge line that could only appear by all the constraints we had established at the outset with Martine.
I would never have had enough words to express my gratitude to all those who have little or no been able to make exist this simple putting in the presence of artistic approaches so lively and passionate though minority.
One small book on the first ten editions of the festival names them all. Of course, those who participated in the last two editions are missing.
A special thought to the artists who came·have disappeared since: John Russell, Simon H. Fell, Isabelle Usky and our friend Dominique Clermont.
We therefore close this parenthesis with the feeling of having done our part but the adventure continues for our association in the Creusian territory and beyond...
Lê Quan Ninh
Thanks for offering this beautiful festival.
Life is made of movement, I wish Epicentre well wind and these projects in the future.
Victory D.
Hello Epicentre,
Wise decision, wishing you many beautiful things for Epicentre, in the Creusois, and elsewhere, and in the everyday life that also matters! We will live with beautiful memories of these concerts.
THANKS TO THE BRUITS OF MUSIC!
Well friendly
Mina S.
Thank you for your energy and commitment!
I have a magnificent memory of the sound of music, its warmth, its benevolence, its church-painted walls, its country acousmonium and its hazel piano stable!
Congratulations and thanks to you! This adventure is very inspiring, nothing disappears, everything changes, The Noise of Music is inside us!
I kiss you!

Hello.
I am very sad at the end of this poetic, acute, festive journey and therefore of sharing, joy and beauty.
Thank you, to divert (a little) René Char, « with those we love, we stopped hearing The sound of music, and it's not silence »...
Thanks.
Anne M.
Hello.
I've already touched a word with Ninh (and I don't know who reads these emails) but thank you, just thank you for everything that has been done and will still be done with Epicentre.
Jerome N.
Hi, Ninh and Martine,
Thank you both for your work and your dreams. I was happy to come and play in such special circumstances.
Be good and continue.
Bises,
E.M.
It's with disgust that I'm getting this news that's getting caught up with Quincy Jones' disappearance.
So I'm doubly sad today.
This festival has been for me, for many years, a curiosity and a wonder of every moment
I discovered a multitude of artists and music facets, it was a great pleasure that this encounter of living music
I can only thank you.
I hope you can find yourself in initiatives as successful as the ones you have made us live through this festival.
Good for you.
Gérard L.
bravo to you two for these years of shared poetry, this « enchanted parenthesis » and the reference to Max Stirner (unknown to me until today).
very warmly
Patricia F.
Dear Ninh, dear Martine,
For my part, I discovered the festival in 2020, during this special edition, where I got to know microbiote more than music. And I loved, because what mattered a lot, beyond music (which precious gift that these discoveries, thank you!), in this beautiful corner of Creuse, was human presence, reflections, laughs, meals, all sharing. My favorite memory: the impromptu demonstration of wheels in the little meadow in front of the capital during the ball this year.
I loved sailing in this world so sweet, where I met charming people, where I listened to things that I liked, or didn't like, but always interested. Even when I wasn't staying, I was happy to be here.
I don't stretch, but I find your decision to stop now absolutely beautiful and fair. I will have a little pinch in the heart at the beginning of August, but it will be mostly beautiful memories that will touch, and the joy of having been able to participate in these events.
A big thank you to you and the entire team for these 5×3 days of eternity!
Breton bises,
Alexandra C.
Dear Ninh,
A. and I were very moved to read your message, so Le Bruit de la Musique was an act utopia, first for me and then for the three of us (with his daughter Ad.), and this year in addition for my Austrian daughter Al. The way you describe your work at the festival resonates with the way I have lived intimately: as a calibration of what art can claim, of what human relations can claim, as a lasting elevation.
Thanks for all this!
See you soon,
Stefan N.
Very beautiful,
Very moving,
Very well 😉
Sébastien M.
Hello Martine, Hello Ninh,
But what a great job you've done in 12 years and how lucky we were to be both invited and public.
There are moments like the one you have heard together where one other calls us pushed by intuitions that are often just and simple.
You are two artists and your visions as improvisations are driven by your presence and your listening to this moving world, not always in the sense that we would like and that's why you are doing well to protect yourself and keep the energy to keep moving.
There's probably all this in your decision that I admire, and it's nice to leave a bright adventure and leave it in the firmament.
I know that your commitment will continue to be more beautiful, with more time to discover your steps so precious.
So all my support for this turn and to continue in thought to work for our music so precious and so lively.
Looking forward to seeing you again,
I kiss you
Patricia
Hello.
It's with a little pinch in my heart that I get this news. I think I understand the reasons.
My participation was modest and not very regular, but this festival marked my life as a musician and auditor.
I remember, among other things:
- spirit of communion among spectators (and volunteers)
- investment of interpreters
- the shock of the discovery of composer Jürg Frey and his string quartet n°2
- the radiation of the Touffe band with Michel Doneda
- of my greed to listen to the inventiveness of the creators
- of my perplexity sometimes
- to hear the voice of Anne Montaron, and to tell me, is that possible? She?
- landscapes and heritage of "your" places
- more generally the happiness of discovering, a little like Alice in Wonderland
Thank you all. I have not yet taken the step of coming to the epicentre to continue this path of discovery and sharing, please excuse me. It's a resolution I'm making. I hope I'm up to it.
but to finish I also remember
- of Ninh's modesty
- Martine's smile
And that's not close to disappearing!
Well friendlyly
See you soon.
Catherine
Hello Martine and Lê,
This Festival was indeed an adventure that allowed so many amateurs to share unforgettable moments listening to so many musicians you had brought in during those years. Thanks to your commitment and energy, you have been able to mobilize the many helpers for these organizations and also convince the publishers for their support and you have also been able to maintain the Festival at the time of the Covid. These amateurs coming for many from France and elsewhere discovered our Region and often felt the need to come back.
Of course we are disappointed that « Le Bruit de la Musique become silent » , but we understand very well that you wish to put your energy for new adventures while knowing that we will have the opportunity to follow the immense work that Epicentre continues to do in the Region from your establishment in Jarnages and performing you as the fact at this time Martine as we have seen recently in Nicolas' sheepfold and which continues in Chambon , the Martignat and elsewhere. We also remember the Bhuto show you produced in Lavaveix. Mines with the many young people who come and discover this art.
We have just been informed that Lê has reissued « The negative path »and we will acquire it with great interest.
With all our admiration for your productions and wishing you to continue for a long time to conserve this energy in order to take advantage of the various circles on which you intervene.
Very cordially both
NB Having had the chance to be a few days ago at the Philarmony to hear the conference of Heiner Goebbels and his production « A House of Call », we have thought of you who like him awaken us to a renewed listening of the perceptions of noises and sounds, and pushing us into our individual and collective habitus, which is the function of art.
Françoise and Arnauld
When I read this article, I was thinking about you. As much as I wanted to tell you how much your last e-mail affected me. Le Bruit de la Musique I was a model of perfection. A program so unbridled, creative, varied, unexpected... a welcome so natural, warm, joyful... rural sites so withdrawn, so beautiful. A great lesson. Thank you for this « utopia of action » and Happy New Year
Christine G.
Thank you. Le Bruit de la Musique. Thank you for this so precious human adventure, these unlikely encounters, this timeless place, this necessary parenthesis. Thank you, thank you.
Gilles G.
A page also turns a little for me and my 4 years of participation in this festival since I moved to Creuse...
Claudine M.
Congratulations to you all! I came only once, but I keep an extremely vivid memory of it. And long life in Ryanji in Creuse!
David S.
Beautiful Martine and Ninh! Yes it's a little sad and especially beautiful. All my gratitude 👏👏Yes live the sound of life! live the sound of poetry THANK YOU and soon I hope to see you again
Audrey G.
Thank you for allowing me, through the many editions of the festival in which I participated, as listener, volunteer or musician, to live beautiful moments, to make beautiful encounters, to discover some of the little magical places of the Creus region. I am sad, of course, but so rich in emotions that you have so generously managed to share and so happy to have taken part in the adventure. Thanks again and long life to the projects of Epicentre. I'd like to...
Yves M.
Bravo for this enchantment, yes, which will surely have allowed us to dare embark on the adventure, following the path you had opened. Long live Epicentre.
Unaccepted·es • Festival of Unheard and Contemporary Music
Thank you Ninh for this beautiful testimony!
I fully understand this decision in the form of two-headed evidence.
The adventure continues in the memories of toustes, this is how we extend the festival sonorities that lasted the same time.
Utopias « achieved » never die...
thank you for inviting me, for inviting us•e•s
Carole R.
Follow the poetic path rather than reason, this should inspire us more often. I regret to have missed these 12 appointments but I am glad that they took place and that the poetry that carried them does not allow itself to be confined to the routine of habits and culture.
Rémi B.
At the Noise of Music, we came to do a cure of intelligence... They are not so numerous, these spaces of freedom or we can learn and create in a state of mind and an ethic of depth, involvement and time given to reflection. So we were filling up and going back stronger to face the world as it is... I will never have enough time to regret this last edition we missed! A big thank you to Martine, Ninh and the others who have made us better for twelve years!
Joel P.
Thank you.
Rémi Fl B.
Thank you very much.
Still here!
Pierre J.
I am very sad at the end of this poetic, acute, festive journey and therefore of sharing, joy and beauty.
Thank you, to divert (a little) René Char, « with those we love, we stopped hearing The sound of music, and it's not silence »...
Anne M.
Sad to have never been able to participate in this mythical festival!!! I'm well married... I kiss you both! And long life at the Epicentre!
Clement L.
Thanks to both of you and all the others for the coloring that you have aroused in the streets of Saint Silvain and Domeyrot. These birds that came to land three days a year on our villages offered us an ephemeral and unusual appointment that will miss!
Hervé A.
Thank you for everything you have brought to listening!
Anlor L.J.
Very sad for this festival! He has enriched us a lot with a great thank you Martine and Ninh to the technical musicians not to forget the volunteers, but we will try to come most often for the demonstrations of Sylvan and Isabelle and Gretta the cocker
B.de.S.
I had the pleasure to experience the festival in 2022, and I would have loved to come to France again to experience it in the future...but everything has an end. Thank you for organizing such a beautiful festival, the profound meeting of music and human beings stays within me... the inspiration is life long! THAT experience of deep meeting can only be achieved by organizers which intention is pure. Hogs to you and Martine.
Ying-Hsueh C.
Nothing is eternal, everything changes...
Congratulations and thanks for these utopias realized for our public happiness.
Silence does not exist on earth, and echo is longer than our ears can hear!
Camille P.S.
Having been able to do only a flash passage at the festival of 2023, I can only imagine (poetically?) what these twelve editions were. Remains the joy of knowing that time-spaces like this exist and may have existed.
With no regrets, but with a little nostalgia already, I wish long life at any moment. The present is made of them. Then we must continue to be. We have no choice anyway.
Nice to meet you here or there.
Sébastien B.
A big thank you for all this, this heart energy shared. Thank you for your honor Le Bruit de la Musique under the guise of a multitude of forms and activities more or less tedious and enlightening mind. I was not a regular but participated in this sweet madness where it made good listen, dance and share all together. Bravo for all this energy at the service of the great noise that makes us and all my wishes for a very beautiful continuation in your musical and creative lives 🙏🍀
Pascale B.
Thanks, Ninh and Martine.
I am at your distance and with great admiration. What a great job for those 12 years. A musical and poetic revolution in Le Limousin.
I hope that other forms will emerge. Here on the other side of the ocean, it's tense... I'm not going to listen to some of your recordings I kept. For my soul! ❤️
Good road and I hope you meet one of these next days.
Nicole B.
Thank you for the two festivals I followed with « wonder ».
Barbara T.
Bravo.

Think about the end of a festival with heart and consistency. Bravo. ❤

Bravo for this incredible project, and the 12 editions of this extraordinary festival! With all my admiration.
Laurence B.
It is not nothing to do, it is not nothing to say, that an act of end is a poetic act. With my admiration.
Delphine B.
We can only congratulate you on the work done and the sharing...
Jean-Michel V. S.
I wish I'd come here once. 🤷♀️💚
Corinne D.
A big thank you for your commitment and for all these beautiful discoveries that the 12 editions of the sound of music have given us. A big thank you also for all these steps on the side that prove how much the curiosity of the public still exists, all the more so when it fertilizes itself in conviviality and generosity, simply on a human scale! We'll regret this appointment, which has become indispensable over the years.
See you soon, on other paths and for other sounds that the music probably holds.
Michel H.
Very nice text for a very nice engagement. Congratulations and thanks Ninh and Martine 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
